Are You Speaking Death and Defeat About Yourself or Words of Life?
I’m certainty guilty of using my own words against me by speaking death and defeat over the person God has formed me to be with intention and purpose.
Saying these verses aloud is a good way to combat and reverse the negative words you’ve spoken over yourself throughout the years forming negative thought patterns.
Renewing Your Mind
Even if it’s hard to believe these verses are true for you, the more you meditate on them and have faith that they are in fact true regardless of how you feel, the more it’ll sink into your mind and soul.
And I’ll be honest, I’ve not completely mastered the total belief that these verses are truth regardless of how I think and feel.
As a person who struggles with extreme lack of self-confidence, I often have to fight the voice in my head that tells me:
“Yeah I believe those verse are definitely true for everyone else, God sees them as righteous in Christ, but there’s no way they’re true for me. I mean, does He really see the mistake He made when He made me? I’d be great if it was actually true for me.”

But this way of thinking is such an INSULT to God.
I mean, He created the heavens and the earth and all that’s in it. All His magnificent, beautiful creations in nature, and He called ME good
He sent His one and only beloved Son who did no wrong and had Him die for ME and yet I have the nerve to tell God He’s wrong in making me and how I am?
Yeah… I’m either really dumb or really prideful to argue with God’s Word.
So trust me when I say I know how hard it is to choose to believe the Word over your own feelings and emotions.

I have to remind myself every day that God’s Word is true and with every doubt I have about my worth, I have to dig in deep and push past the pain of my own wrong beliefs and thoughts filling my soul and reach through to the truth buried deep in my spirit.
Transformation Takes Time
It’s a slow step-by-step process of renewing your mind, but consistent time in the Word and meditating on verses about your worth and value WILL bring a change.
I may not be at the end of the journey of changing wrong thoughts to right thinking, but I’m certainty not where I used to be.
There so many beautiful verses of Scripture that remind us of who we are and Whose we are in the Bible.
It would be a good idea to spend time looking up all the ones you can find, writing them out and confessing them aloud about yourself until it becomes something you truly believe.
