Before You Start
Remember to:
- Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance before you read.
- Take your time with each verse.
- Be careful not to simply rush through the reading to “check-off” your time with God on your to-do list.
- Apply Scripture to your life.
- Trust the Holy Spirit to bring understanding and wisdom as you read.
We are to meditate on Scripture, which means we are to roll it over and over in our mind. Focusing on one verse a day is a good place to start if you struggle to keep your mind focused on the Word.
Use The Plan At Any Time
Each reading plan has 30-31 verses to cover each day of the month, but a specific month name was left off the downloadable plan so that you can use it anytime or come back to it again!
Topic Of The Month
The October reading plan is all about Restoration and Renewal.
Now that the Autumn season has officially begun and October is starting, my entire being feels so joyous and carefree.
Where I live, even though the temperatures stay pretty summery for a good chunk of the fall season, the exhilaration and happiness I get when this time of year comes around isn’t dazed when the weather won’t cooperate.
There’s just something about the Autumn time that brings peace and calmness. Everything almost slows down compared to the high pace of spring and summer. It’s as if nature takes a deep breath and with every Autumn breeze, the earth is cooled and lulled into a peaceful rhythm of existence.
During this time, when nature starts to pause in it’s growing, it welcomes a period of restoration and renewal as life slows down and provides a moment to just breathe.
Similarly, this time of year also makes me pause and reflect on my life, how I am equally in need of time for restoration and how I crave a constant heart and mind renewal from the pressures and demands of life.
The fall months are a great time to reflect and restore peace to your soul through staying connected with God and letting Him bring the cool winds of renewal and refreshment into your life.
The Bible reading plan this month focuses on the themes of God restoring His children, our renewed life in Christ, and the refreshment God offers us each day.
I hope the verses this month revive your hope, your soul, and your walk with Christ.
And I pray that along with nature entering a period of rest and slow-living throughout the coming months, that you also will be refreshed and replenished by the restoration God longs to give you!
