September Monthly Bible Reading Plan – Illumination

Welcome to my FREE printable monthly Bible reading plans!

Are you looking for some extra encouragement in your daily Bible readings? Enjoy monthly topical studies? Or just don’t know where to start reading and need a little bit of a guide? Then this post is for you!

See below to download a free monthly Bible reading plan to supplement your time in the Word.

Before You Start

Remember to:

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance before you read.
  • Take your time with each verse.
  • Be careful not to simply rush through the reading to “check-off” your time with God on your to-do list.
  • Apply Scripture to your life.
  • Trust the Holy Spirit to bring understanding and wisdom as you read.

We are to meditate on Scripture, which means we are to roll it over and over in our mind. Focusing on one verse a day is a good place to start if you struggle to keep your mind focused on the Word.

Use The Plan At Any Time

Each reading plan has 30-31 verses to cover each day of the month, but a specific month name was left off the downloadable plan so that you can use it anytime or come back to it again!

Topic Of The Month

Hello friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed this past month’s Bible readings about freedom and that it has brought fresh encouragement and hope into your life.

September’s Bible reading plan is all about Illumination.

The light of God’s Word is a lamp for our lives. His guidance brings illumination to our life as we trust Him for understanding and wisdom in both daily and major decisions.

I can be a pretty indecisive person, and a lot of times I doubt my decision-making ability and question whether I’m making the correct choice.

It’s reassuring to know I don’t have to live life based on my own wisdom or understanding to guide my choices, but that I can rely on and rest in God’s ability to guide and lead me.

As we’ll read in a later verse, the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth and leads us in the way we should go (John 16:13).

When we are afraid of making the wrong decision, we can trust that our steps are established by the Lord and as we have the mind of Christ, we are able to make wise choices (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Even if we make a decision on which we later reflect and feel was not the best, God always works all things out for our good (Romans. 8:28). He promises to support us with His hand and lead us on level ground as we seek His voice and His Word.

If you’re in a period of life right now where you’re tasked with a choice to make and feel lost and overwhelmed (as most of us usually are), it’s my prayer and hope that these verses throughout the month of September will bring peace to your soul and mind as you rest in the comfort of knowing that God’s got you and He’ll lead you in your every step.
